A lot can happen in 30 years. Back in 1991, the average cost of a home was about $12,000, 30-year fixed mortgage rates were 9.25%, and the median U.S. household income was about $53,025. It was also the year Raiders of the Lost Ark was released in theaters, the first IBM PC was invented and, you guessed it, Schmidt Roofing officially opened its doors!
On a side note, we’re happy that many people who took out 30-year mortgages in 1981 have finally paid off the balance on their home!
Looking Back on Our History
30 years ago, we started our family-owned roofing and exteriors business to help make our community a better place to live. We wanted to improve the homes and businesses of our neighbors, one project at a time.
More than 10,000 jobs later, we still hold true to our family values, and we are proud of what we have accomplished over the course of the past three decades. In this time, we have extended our service area all over the state of Minnesota and even service homes and businesses in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and South Dakota. From roofing to siding, windows gutters, and so much more, we have helped customers improve the value and appeal of the property they own, and we thank them for their business, support, and the many kind words they have left us over the years.
